Up in the air... It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's the cost of gasoline
Checking out some news this morning, I saw that Oil is again at a record high, and regular unleaded prices at some California gas stations are over $5/ gallon. We're sitting about $3 here in Tennessee, and that crunch hurts. Apparently, the president of OPEC says there's no lack of sweet crude, adding that high gas prices in the U.S. are a result of what is happening in the U.S. It's a reference to the value of the dollar continuing to fall. I'm not an economist, but this stuff is starting to hurt.
I don't go out to the store to just pick something up. I consolidate my trips, which is a good thing for conservation, but not so good for the economy. I will no longer make a quick run to the store on a whim, if I'm sitting at home and think of something I want to buy like a new mouse for my computer, the latest DVD release or something for the house that I want but don't need. I'm sure I'm not the only one, either. Because of gas prices, my little contribution to our economy has really gotten smaller.
